In Latin America AMTEX is the largest producer of Sodium Carboxymethylcelullose (CMC) under the brand name of “Gelycel”®, operates three production plants in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, with sales offices and representatives in most of the important cities of the American Continent. Amtex has an installed capacity of 32,000 metric tonsper year and is amongst the most important producers of CMC in the world. The production capacity is distributed in the following manner:
